The sharp increase in losses was forced to raise the rent, say in the KSCA.
The increase in rent in the houses of Kiev, which serve the utility operating companies, associated with a sharp increase in losses of these companies for the period since the last rent increase in 2011.
This was stated by Deputy head of Kyiv city state administration (KCSA) Petr Panteleyev.
“Two years we were asked to adjust… We were denied, since there are limits to the solvency of the people. Now the situation more or less stabilized, and we are forced to take such a step as required to maintain efficiency of enterprises and their workers, which is already not enough,” he said at a briefing in Kiev on Saturday.
Panteleev said that part of the rent includes more than 20 services from cleaning to maintenance of lifts and in-house systems, garbage removal, maintenance.
The share of the rent also has, according to the calculations of the city authorities, about 5% of the total expenses on housing and communal services, therefore increasing such expenditures will be 4.7-5%.
According to him, new tariffs will allow to raise quality of rendering of such services. “I hope for the understanding of Kiev. We undertake quality control”, – said the Deputy head of the KSCA.
Panteleev said that the new tariffs will take effect from 1 July, and citizens begin to receive them in August.
