Klimkin told about the Kremlin’s reaction to his meeting with trump

According to Klimkin, Russia for his meeting with trump was unexpected.

The Minister of foreign Affairs of Ukraine Pavlo Klimkin said that for the Kremlin to meet with the President of the United States Donald trump was unexpected.

In an interview with TSN Ukrainian Minister noted that the Russian propaganda claims that the White House just used the Ukrainians to extinguish the scandal with the Kremlin’s influence on trump.

“I think, first, of such a signal, no one in Moscow expected and this is its added value. Secondly, this signal has a meaning – system … about the Russian attempt to affect the democratic system of the civilized world, (the democratic system of all the transatlantic companies, which I definitely attribute Ukraine). So everyone understands that this is not just some kind of threat, it is such a threat that it is necessary to counteract. And this understanding is also in Washington clearly there,” said Klimkin.

According to him, the main result of the meeting with trump was a clear message of support for Ukraine.

“Anyway, the meeting itself is a very strong signal of support. Since American presidents do very rarely meet with foreign Ministers. In principle,” – said Klimkin.

In addition, the head of the foreign Ministry of Ukraine stressed on the atmosphere of the meeting.

“The atmosphere is full of positive emotions, at the end of the meeting we talked about the support of its Ukrainian on his meeting with the Ukrainian community during the election campaign and how he remembered these meetings, saying that Ukrainians are cool. In this moment I also really liked. And one of the main political signals – and it is also very important is a real desire to be involved in the pressure on Russia. There is a very interesting idea, I mean, these interesting ideas will be able to tell later on when we coordinate among all your friends, and of course any issues will need to be negotiated with Germany and with the newly elected President of France,” – said Klimkin.

May 10 met Donald trump with the foreign Minister of Ukraine Pavlo Klimkin, during which the sides discussed further support to Ukraine from the United States. Also the head of the Ukrainian foreign Ministry met with Vice-President Mike Pence.
