Klimkin said that Ukraine will introduce visa regime with Russia

According to the Minister, Ukraine and the Russian Federation now there is no problem with illegal immigration.

Ukraine may introduce visa regime with Russia if Kiev is not satisfied with the quality of work of biometric border control that will work from 1 January 2018. This was stated by foreign Minister Pavlo Klimkin.

The Minister explained that the visa regime is introduced in order to combat illegal immigration, and Ukraine with Russia no such problem. It was therefore installed a biometric control.

“First, the biometrics, then the statement that they will call in on our territory, then it is the control on our territory”, – he explained the mechanism of entry of the Russians.

Klimkin noted that if this mechanism generally does not work, then there will be a need for the introduction of the visa regime with biometric passports.
