Tillerson knows all about the Russian aggression against Ukraine, said the head of the Ukrainian foreign Ministry.
The Secretary of state Rex Tillerson knows about the aggression of Russian Federation against Ukraine in detail because it was discussed and debated different solutions to the situation.
This was announced by the Minister of foreign Affairs of Ukraine Pavlo Klimkin during a working visit to Washington.
“I am very discussed with Tillerson, first here in Washington, and then we had a substantial meeting in Brussels at the time of the Commission Ukraine-NATO. He now understands not just the General logic of our common position, and is aware of all the details,” – said the head of the Ukrainian foreign Ministry.
Klimkin also expressed hope that the Secretary of state will “put pressure on the Russian side” with the aim of implementation by Russia of the Minsk agreements.
“Whether it’s a parallel process – the Normandy format and the US pressure on Russia, or we will be able to separate stages to create common elements. We can talk,” said the Minister, answering a question about the possibility of U.S. accession to the Channel format.
Klimkin also said that at this stage the idea is to achieve real progress on the Minsk agreement on the establishment of security and the release of the hostages.
“If it succeeds to do better by coordinating efforts, we will do so,” he said.
The Minister also added that he does not rule out making a “political decision” on bringing to the settlement of the situation in Eastern Ukraine, the US or the Geneva format, or “connecting Budapest and Normandy formats”.
