The head of the Russian Orthodox Church has accused the Constantinople in disagreement with the Orthodox tradition.
The head of Kremlin-controlled Russian Orthodox Church Kirill has appealed to the primates of the local churches with an appeal not to recognize the results held in Kiev unifying Council. This is stated on the website of the ROC.
Kirill once again called the Council members “dissidents” and expressed “deep divergence of the Primate and the hierarchs of the Holy Church of Constantinople with Orthodox canonical tradition and patristic ecclesiology”.
He called on the primates of the local churches “to raise their authoritative voice and to do everything possible to stop the destructive Orthodoxy of action.”
“I urge You and the fullness of [your] Holy Church not to recognize the newly formed pseudoterminal structure and not to join with her in communion,” wrote Cyril.
