David Lopez was killed in his car
Killed in Mexico, a former contender for the title of world champion in the Welterweight 39-year-old David Lopez.
Lopez and his companion attackers were shot in their car. When the police arrived on the scene, the boxer was already dead and his companion seriously wounded.
David Lopez, nicknamed “the Destroyer,” started his Boxing career in 1995. He was the champion of Latin America and the Caribbean.
June 11, 2011, Lopez spent his fight with Austin Trout for the WBA championship belt. And lost by unanimous decision.
During his career, “the Destroyer” won 42 match (24 by knockout), 16 times and lost one fight ended in a draw.
