Ukraine responded to the threat of boycott of the song contest.
In response to the letter of the Director General of the European broadcasting Union Ingrid Deltenre to the Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groisman, the members of the Board of “National public broadcasting company of Ukraine” made a public request to respect the sovereignty of the state.
This is stated in the message on the website of the TV channel NTU.
According to the source, the Council members read the letter from the European broadcasting Union, which allegedly referred to the threat of boycott of the song contest some European countries because of the ban on entry to Ukraine from the party of the Russian Federation Yulia Samoilova.
In turn, the organizers of the Ukrainian side has hastened to remind the colleagues from the EBU that the visit to the Crimea without permission of the Ukrainian government, Yulia Samoylova has violated the sovereignty and laws of Ukraine. Except the Russian Federation, no other country whose representatives were challenged to participate in the competition, has no reason to contest the qualification of the actions of Yulia Samoilova, since no European country does not recognize the ownership of the Crimea of the Russian Federation.
Along with this, the organizers were surprised that their “grief” in this situation, EMU expresses the Ukraine, not Russia.
“This is fundamentally contrary to the statements of Mrs Ingrid Deltenre about the “apolitical” “Eurovision”, because in fact MS Deltenre side of the Russian Federation arranged by the Russian side, political provocations,” – said in a statement, the members of the Board of NTU.
“We urge Ms. Ingrid Deltenre, and in her face, the European broadcasting Union to respect the sovereignty of Ukraine, not to transform the European broadcasting Union into a tool of strengthening of foreign political manipulation and not to interfere with such statements normal and proper conduct of the contest, such as this year and in the future. We urge you to avoid threats of exclusion of Ukraine from the participants of the contest “Eurovision”, – summed up its response in Ukraine.
