Kiev began collecting signatures under the petition against the renaming of the Avenue Vatutina.
The residents of Kiev have started to submit electronic petitions with the request not to rename the Avenue Vatutina Avenue Shukhevych.
“June 1, 2017, the city Council renamed the Avenue Vatutina Avenue Shukhevych. Required to leave the Avenue former name! Thanks to General Vatutin in 1943 Kiev was liberated from Nazi invaders”, – said in the petition, whose author is Alena Berezhnaya, on the website of the city Council. Its currently signed by 21 people.
Also Andrew Godlewski filed a petition to deny to rename the Avenue Vatutina. “To prohibit political entertainment with the renaming of streets without public hearings. To cancel the decision on renaming of prospect Vatutina in honor of a very controversial figure of Roman Shukhevych, alien as Kiev and many residents of Ukraine”, – writes the author.
The petition was signed by 65 people.
