Since early this year, 80 residents of Kiev have been bitten by ticks, said the head of GU “Rospotrebsoyuz” in the capital, Oleg Ruban.
“First of all cases have occurred in the water Park, the Botanical garden and the dense forest-Voditsa” he said.
Ruban also noted that in connection with the cold the number of infected ticks decreased to 10%. “Today, recorded a very low rate of infected ticks. Only 10% vs. 50% in the same period last year. This is primarily due to the cool weather,” he added.
In late April, it was reported that almost 30% of ticks in the capital of the infectious Lyme disease.
Note, the victim can avoid infection in case you reach a health facility for help within 24-48 hours after the bite.
