Unknown gunmen killed a Briton.

One of the British citizens taken hostage in Nigeria hostages killed, three others fired

On 13 October, the rebels captured four British during the attack on the village in the Niger Delta. The governments of Nigeria and Britain managed to negotiate the release of three people, however, the fourth, Ian Squire, was killed.

It is noted that the British worked to charitable organizations assisting residents of the local villages.
