In Khmelnytskyi night, July 2, on fire trade-production complex. It is reported by the State service for emergency situations (SSES).
“July 2 at 01:26, it was reported that in the city of Khmelnitsky on Starokostiantynivsky highway 26, a fire occurred on the second floor of a three storey commercial and industrial buildings”, – stated in the message.
It is noted that due to recent reports about the fire, the fire was partially covered by the second and third floors and the building roof area of about 2000 sq. m.
Rescuers more than 3.5 hours fought with fire, there was a real threat of collapse of structures.
Fast distribution of fire was promoted by wooden ceiling of the building, which was a sewing workshop and retail space, the report says.
Rescuers managed to beat off fire from the closely built (contrary to fire regulations) three-storey building, the roof of which was already raging flame. Also the firemen prevented the spread of fire to a supermarket, office space and nearby high-rises.
The fire was localized at 03:17 and eliminated at 05:05. However, rescuers continued to shed design to prevent re-ignition.
To extinguish the fire were involved in 51 lifeguard on 17 units of fire and special equipment of the SES.
No casualties were reported. The cause and damage will be determined by the investigation.
