Kharkiv was put on three years for killing a dog

A drunk was holding the shepherd by the collar and beaten on the head with a hammer.

Oktyabrsky district court of Kharkiv sentenced to 3 years and 4 months in prison a 51-year-old man for a contract killing shepherd.

As noted in the press service of the Kharkiv regional Prosecutor’s office, 40-year-old resident Novobakinskogo district of Kharkov in July “hired a local drunk for the murder of his dog and gave the murder weapon – a hammer. As a reward, the killer has promised a bottle of vodka”.

A drunk was holding the shepherd by the collar and beaten on the head with a hammer. One of the neighbors heard the squeal of the animal. She called animal welfare activists and the police. To save the shepherd has failed.

“The owner of the dog was not able to convincingly articulate why decided to get rid of an animal, and even in such a brutal way”, – is told in the message of Prosecutor’s office.

The court found the attacker guilty of animal cruelty (part 1 of article 299 of the criminal code of Ukraine) and appointed him to 3 years and 4 months of imprisonment, adding partly served punishment for earlier perfect theft.

The customer of murder of their own dogs, 40-year-old Kharkiv, the court found guilty of incitement and complicity in the bullying of an animal (part 4 of 5 article 27, part 1 of article 299 of the Criminal code) and arrested him for 3 months. The prosecution appealed against the trial court’s decision in the appeal, insisting on more stringent punishment.
