Ukraine has shown significant progress in reforms in recent years, but it needs to accelerate the fight against corruption.
This was during a plenary session of the summit Ukraine-the EU on Thursday in Kiev, said the President of the European Commission Jean-Claude Juncker.
“Ukraine has made huge progress in recent years. Considering what has been done, the reforms that have been implemented, still much remains to be done,” said Juncker.
He noted that the fight against corruption – “the trump card, main card, with which to work”, stressing that the EU is a explaining what to do.
“The issue of corruption is important for citizens and it should be intensified. But we must not underestimate that there is a dialogue, a debate between Ukraine and the EU – a question of reputation of your great nation in the region associated with corruption. Therefore, it is necessary to accelerate and intensify the fight against corruption, ” said Jean-Claude Juncker.
