Journalists told how the Ukrainians in Poland

The Polish newspaper reported on harsh working conditions and disregard to respect of employers.

Among Polish employers there are those who use work of hired workers from abroad, especially from Ukraine, is actually on the verge of breaking the law.

This is stated in the article of the Polish newspaper Dziennik Gazeta Prawna under the heading “Labour camps for Ukrainians”, reports Politeka. The publication notes the alarming regularity in Poland associated with foreign workers, most of whom are Ukrainians.

Their employment in Poland increasingly resembles “the principles that have been copied directly from landlord estates”. Employers do not conclude labour and civil contract, all expenses are transferred directly on the shoulders of workers – clothing, tools, etc.

Thus, according to the newspaper, the salary of such workers is often below the fixed level of the law of the minimal wage in Poland. And the employer can afford to penalize employees without giving reasons, and such penalties may be ten times higher than the salary.

“The worker cannot leave the job before three months from the moment when he would warn his employer. If you do it before, then for each unearned day needs to pay 1 thousand zlotys fine (around 6,7 thousand hryvnia — ed.). And the firm which employs him, may dismiss such employee at any time without giving reasons for the dismissal. Many other examples of asymmetrical relations between employers and Ukrainian workers can only be described in one word – operation”, — is spoken in article.

At the same time, as noted Hazinski and Olecki, to counteract such behavior is quite difficult, because the actions of employers remain legal. According to the Vice-Minister of labour Stanislaus Swedish, these contracts are “on the verge of law.”
