Japanese shopping cart itself scans the electronic tags on the goods, calculates total cost of purchases. When you exit the trading floor basket is placed in a special rack. Until the buyer pays, the bottom of the basket is shifted, and the goods neatly placed in a plastic bag.
As explained by the creators of “smart” basket, they did not completely replace human cashiers with electronic devices. The main goal is to reduce queues at the checkout, to speed up the payment process purchases, to prevent errors when scanning products.
