Ukrainian singer Jamala believes that the jury of the National selection should not apologize for the choice of the group O. Torvald as the representative of Ukraine at “Eurovision-2017”.
“I absolutely do not agree that the jury of the National selection should apologize for his choice, and personally I would not going to apologize. The collective score from the jury coincided with the point that O. Torvald has received the results of the audience voting, that is, the jury and the audience voted for this party together,” she said.
The singer said that Eurovision is a contest in which there are no guarantees, the results are unpredictable.
“Everyone predicted the victory artist from Italy, and was won by the Portuguese. O. Torvald were worthy of the competition, they were the only rock band, and, in particular, differed from all other participants. I congratulate Yevhen Halych and the guys from O. Torvald with a great performance!” – said Jamal.
She also recalled that Ukraine made two additional participants, who never had any relation to the “Eurovision”.
“This had never in any country did not happen. Millions of viewers learned about ONUKA and Monatik. They had a unique opportunity to show their music to the world, bypassing national selection process and months of preparation, just because the “Eurovision” was held in Ukraine.
