A new school for girls in Australia located in Melbourne.
The project area of 3 thousand square meters made architectural company Woods Bagot. The design is cool cabinets away from the traditional environment in the space and focuses on an individual approach to students.
The building has a complex sculptural form and two wings. Movement around the main volume was designed to help natural circulation of air, and connect the main courtyard with a tennis court on the East side.
The interior is made from recycled lumber, the floor mostly covered with stone and complemented by carpets from fishing nets. The color palette is specially reserved only classrooms added popular blue shade in combination with school colors.
The architects have tried to search finishing materials of the facade, each time finding the most interesting and functional solution. The main problem was the insulation, but the communication with manufacturers of tiles and pavers helped to find the best option.
