Researchers from the University of Edinburgh believe that their findings will form the basis for new methods of combating those effects, which causes excessive paracetamol. According to them, this is the main cause of acute liver failure in Western countries.
The researchers investigated the effect of paracetamol on liver cells taken from mice and humans. The experiment showed that in certain circumstances, the paracetamol may damage the liver due to effects on major structural connection between adjacent cells of the body.
