Payment of housing services has grown to more than 13% of the income of Ukrainians.
The fact that in comparison with the first quarter decreased spending on all articles of food, clothing and footwear, communication, recreation, etc., showed the official statistics for the second quarter of 2017.
This was stated by Director of the Ukrainian Association of trade networks suppliers Oleksiy Doroshenko.
So, in the second quarter, the average family spent on food already 40.3% of revenue, not to 41.5% in early 2017. But the cost of housing services rose from 11.6% to 13.3%, and the cost of transport from 9.3% to 10.2%.
“It is significant that the costs of housing increased even in the summer months, so the increase in the cost of these services fall will entail a further reduction of all other articles, including food,” – said the expert.
As explained Doroshenko, expenses, in particular transport increased with the increase of public transport fares and the rising cost of all fuels.
“A significant increase in fuel prices began in August, so the figures for the third quarter will be even worse. All this clearly indicates the real growth of incomes of people,” he said.
