Russian intelligence tried to spy on the election campaign of the President of France Emmanuel Makron through a fake account on Facebook.

According to sources, about two dozen accounts on Facebook was created for monitoring by the officials of the campaign Rules and other persons close to him. According to a U.S. Congressman and the two sources, the espionage campaign include Russian agents.
In the company of Facebook, said that I had to take action on fake accounts that spread misinformation about the elections in France.
