After hours of negotiations, the man who seized this morning, the Bank branch in the Austrian town of Erpfendorf (Federal state of Tyrol), released the hostage and surrendered to police.
“The group of the police negotiating I finally convinced the 28-year-old man in the second half of the day to release the hostage. 15:30 he gave up,” the message reads.
Thus negotiations with armed criminals was carried out for 6 hours. After he went outside, he was immediately arrested by the task force Cobra.
As noted by Kleine Zeitung, the hostage was a 32-year-old taxi driver, who brought the attacker to the Bank. The robber put on him a belt, stating that it contained explosives. After it became clear that it was only a dummy with stones inside.
