Intel has introduced a new version of Scalable Xeon for workstations of new generation. Xeon W will be used for the most demanding applications, from creating special effects in movies to innovative engineering.
The advantages of new item include the Intel architecture, Mesh Architecture, more cores, expanded memory and I/O and instruction set Advanced Vector Extensions 512, which features Xeon processors, and Scalable.
All in the family of Xeon W will be 8 models. Top, Xeon, W-2195, boasts 18 cores, 36 threads and a frequency of 2.3 to 4.3 GHz. The company promises that the new processors will increase the performance of workstations 1.87 times compared with the system of 4-year-old and 1.38 times, compared to the previous generation.
New is for creating graphics and video ultra-high definition (UHD), 3D content, virtual reality for medical devices and trading systems for data processing and analysis, reports Venture Beat.
