Indian court gave the government a choice – either to gradually restore the crumbling Taj Mahal, or tear it down.
The Supreme court of India has demanded to restore the mausoleum-mosque Taj Mahal under threat of demolition sites, reports Hindustan Times.
White marble Taj Mahal for more than 350 years, was covered with mold and cracked, but the government pays no attention to the destruction of the monument of architecture.
“The Eiffel tower every year come to explore the 80 million tourists. This is eight times more than the number of visitors to the Taj Mahal, while he (the mausoleum ed.) much more beautiful the Eiffel tower, which looks like a tower,” said the judge.
The judges sent the government a letter in which he proposed three solutions to the problem: close the Taj Mahal, to destroy or to restore. It is also proposed to establish a special Committee on the preservation of landmarks.
We will remind, in the spring strong wind destroyed the minarets at the entrance gate of the Taj Mahal. From April 1, tourists were restricted to visit the Taj Mahal three hours.
