Roads – a circulatory system that connects the vast expanse. We want to show you the list of roads that are considered the most beautiful, challenging and unforgettable in the world: from coastal highways and dizzying mountain passes to scenic routes through national parks and the longest bridges.
Our selection is not exhaustive, but this post we want to show you how scenic and interesting roads run in different parts of our planet.
1. Highway 1, Big Sur, CA
State Route 1 (SR 1) is one of the main roads that runs North to South along most of the Pacific coastline of the U.S. state of California. The highway is famous for the fact that runs along the beautiful shorelines of the United States.
2. Furkapass, Switzerland
Furkapass (Furka Pass) is a mountain pass in the Swiss Alps, the altitude 2429 m.
3. Atlantic road, Norway
The Atlantic road is a national tourist route. The road was opened on 7 July 1989, and in 2005 she was named “Best building of the twentieth century in Norway.”

8. The Road To Stelvio Pass, Eastern Alps, Italy
A road winds through the Stelvio mountain pass with a height of 2757 m in the Eastern Alps.
9. Col de Turini, France
Col de Turini mountain pass in the Alps with a height of 1607 m in the Alpes-Maritimes Department, France. On this difficult road with numerous sharp turns hold rally Monte Carlo.
10. The road through the tunnel Guoliang, China

11. Denali Highway, Alaska
Denali highway (Alaska Route 8) opened in 1957, it was the first road to the National Park of Denali, formerly called national Park mount McKinley. The length of the highway 217 km.
12. The Karakoram highway, China / Pakistan
The Karakoram highway – the highest paved road in international traffic in the world. It connects China and Pakistan across the ridge of Karakorum at the altitude of 4693 m.
13. Great ocean road, Australia
Great ocean road (Great Ocean Road) – national treasure of Australia, with a length of 243 miles, which winds along the Southeast coast of the mainland between the cities of Torquay and Warrnambool. The road was built by soldiers returning from the First world war, between 1919 and 1932 and dedicated it to the fallen victims.
14. The Sani Pass, KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa
Pass the Sani Pass is located in the Western part of the province of KwaZulu-Natal in South Africa on the road between Underberg and Mokhotlong, Lesotho. Extreme steep rise here is really to make only for the AWD cars, and not in any weather.
15. Ruta 40, Argentina
National route 40, or Ruta 40 is a highway in Western Argentina, stretching from South of Cabo Virgenes in the province of Santa Cruz to La Quiaca in Jujuy province in the North. In the southern part of the road is mainly asphalt.
This is the longest route (5,000 km) in Argentina and one of the largest in the world. It crosses 20 national parks, 18 major rivers, 27 passes again through the Andes.
16. Going-to-the-Sun Road, Glacier national Park, Montana
Construction of Going-to-the-Sun Road was completed in 1932. This 50-kilometer two-lane road ran through the scenic Glacier national Park.
17. Dades Gorge, High Atlas Mountains, Morocco
For centuries the river dades sharpening a narrow gorge, which became a very popular place for tourists in Morocco. It is bent along the 63-kilometre road.
18. US Route 550, “Highway a million dollars”, Colorado, USA
Highway on the million dollars is actually sorokametrovoy part of the highway 550 in Colorado, the Western part of the United States.
19. Trollstigen, Rauma, Norway
Trollstigen means “Troll’s ladder”, which aptly describes a serpentine mountain road in Rauma, Norway. It is a part of Norwegian national road 63.
20. Amalfi Coast, Italy
The Amalfi coast is considered the most scenic coastline in Italy. The local mountain road surrounded by landscapes mapped in 1997 to the world heritage list of UNESCO as “an outstanding example of a Mediterranean landscape”.
21. Track Transfagarasan, Romania
Transfagarasan – the second highest paved road in Romania and one of the most beautiful tracks in the world. It climbs to 2034 metres above sea level and stretches for 90 km.
