In Zaporozhye plan to resume construction of the bridge across the Dnieper

The Ministry of infrastructure of Ukraine announced 2017 as the year of bridges.

On the Nikolaev site of the company Smart Maritime Group (SMG, formerly the black sea shipbuilding plant ChSZ) has resumed production of steel structures for the construction of a bridge across the Dnieper river in Zaporizhia

“As part of the agreement with the customer provided by the manufacturer for Metalworking and Assembly-welding production of enterprises of 880 tonnes of steel in length up to 24 meters. Given the size, delivery in Kiev will be carried out by water on the southern bug and the Dnieper with the help of barges. The order must be executed prior to the beginning of April,” – said the press-center of the SMG.

ChSZ had previously produced metal bridge for this bridge. However, due to the difficult financial and economic situation in the country, a few years ago the construction of this facility was frozen. In August 2016, the Ukrainian government announced the resumption of construction.

In September 2016 the road Service of Zaporozhye region State Agency “Ukravtodor” declared that in August from the regional budget were received 5.6 million hryvnia. From September 1, began the preparatory work for the resumption of construction of two bridges that must connect through the island Khortytsya left and right banks of the Dnieper.

Completion of these bridges need to invest up to 6.5 billion in 5-6 years.
