The MP proposed to ban abortion at the woman’s request.
MP Dmitry Golubov proposes to allow abortion solely on the grounds of medical indications or if the woman became pregnant as a result of rape.
The draft law on amendments to some legislative acts regarding restrictions on the operations of abortion was registered in the Parliament on March 27.
The text of the document appeared on the website of the Verkhovna Rada until the next day.
Golubov believes that the need to exclude the rule which exists in the Civil code of our state, that an abortion before 12 weeks can be carried out at the request of the pregnant woman.
“The operation of artificial interruption of pregnancy (abortion) may be conducted in health care institutions only in the cases and under the following circumstances: if the pregnancy poses a direct threat to the life of the pregnant woman; the presence of medical indications for fetal abnormalities incompatible with the life of the child after birth; the conception of a child as a result of rape,” – said in the text of the bill.
