From the beginning of 2017, the police received 5075 statements about missing children. This was stated by Deputy head of national police Konstantin Bushuyev, the press service of the Ministry.

According to Bushueva, the number of reports on missing children this year was exceeded by 2015 and almost caught up with the data for the year 2016. However, the police began to return missing children home.

“If in 2015 Netpolicy received more than 4,5 thousands of reported missing children in the past year, such messages were about 6 thousand For the first 8 months of this year, police have already received 5075 reports of missing children. I should say that we have a positive tendency in terms of their investigation,” said Bushuyev.

He also said the reasons that cause children to leave the house. Most often it is the tendency of a teenager to vagrancy, and failure to return home, such as trips or from friends.
