The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has decided to amend the Rules of the road and limited the maximum speed in settlements to 50 km/h.
This is stated in resolution 883, which is published on the government portal, reports inforesist.
The government noted that such a change will significantly increase the level of safety on the roads.
“To date, in most EU countries the permitted speed of vehicles in the settlements is not more than 50 km/h, and in particular paragraphs 30 km/h. Thus the adoption of the act will bring national legislation to European Union legislation,” — said on the government website.
The changes will come into force on 1 January 2018. Until that time, the relevant services need to change restrictive signs on the roads.
