Prices will climb up in the coming days of September.
Over the last week cost of the eggplant on the largest wholesale markets of Ukraine increased by almost 75%. Sweet pepper rose by almost 55%.
Last week, the eggplants were sold at UAH 5-7. Now – 10-11,5 UAH / kg. Pepper was 10-13 UAH. This week it is offered for 12-18 UAH.
Experts note that such market situation should be expected. Because of the low prices in 2016, the producers suffered losses. This year total production volumes decreased significantly. An additional factor that influenced the reduction in demand in the market is the heat. Many farms in the South of Ukraine lost a significant part of the crop.
In the wholesale market of the capital the process of rising prices continues, so Housewives should prepare for a new wave of rise in price of products in the retail trade.
