Students choose law and Philology.
The Ministry of education, analyzing the results of the admissions campaign, found out: most applicants sought this year to get on Philology (with a note “foreign languages”), then law, management, medicine, computer science and tourism. But there is another list of the least popular specialties.
Is theology, hydropower, religion, shipbuilding, woodworking and furniture technology, nuclear power, hydraulic engineering, water engineering. That is the technological specialties that we need, – said the Minister of education Lilia Grinevich.
In order to understand why the production of specialty was left unnoticed by students this year, “Komsomolskaya Pravda” in Ukraine” has addressed to experts of personnel services.
– Production profession today is quite relevant, the problem lies in the lack of information. Moms and dads are current graduates graduated from technical universities and are left with nothing. Enterprises in the early nineties collapsed, and no engineers were not needed, – said Tatyana Pashkina, HR-expert website rabota.ua. And then mom and dad wanted to become lawyers, journalists, doctors, but to go to these areas of study was only possible through connections. Now it is much easier – let the children succeed.
That’s why most children choose Philology, law, management, tourism and hospitality. But, according to recruitment agencies, most of our linguists with knowledge of English or German in the West are not listed. In Ukraine, such graduates because of their overabundance sitting in offices at low salaries.
– Few people know what a foreign company in Ukraine is a production market, – continues Tatyana Pashkina. We have production electricians Bugatti and Lamborghini – which one of the applicants knows about this?! In Ukraine sew brands such as Prada and Hugo Boss, but this is too little-known. Ignorance of the applicant creates a problem – the lack of specialists.
Our expert says, with 82% of inhabitants of Ukraine have unclaimed diploma. Although engineering, in particular hydropower and energy in General, has not become less popular. Just information about the employer, which must reach the applicant, it misses. Vacancies in this area enough. Only on request “energy” on the website rabota.ua there are 131 current vacancy that is not enough for such a specialty. For example, “Komsomolskaya Pravda” in Ukraine” have found an opening for the position of chief engineer, specialty “hydropower” with a salary of 15 thousand hryvnias.
According to Tatyana Pushkinoj, in Ukraine there are foreign companies offering their employees salary from 600 to 1000 euros. And such employers is not enough. The company of such format are also training their employees. It is not always the diploma of our University can ensure professional qualifications of the required level.
