Ukrainians offer to celebrate Catholic Christmas.
The Verkhovna Rada intends to make December 25 an official holiday in Ukraine on the occasion of Catholic Christmas. This was stated by Parliament speaker Andre Parubiy.
It is noted that the corresponding bill was asked to submit for consideration of Parliament the people’s Deputy Nikolay knyazhitsky.
“Proposed 25 Dec Christmas to make the day as well as 7 January. Because many in Ukraine and the Roman Catholics, and Protestants, who are asked to make this day a day off. And we have the support of the audience”, – said Parubiy.
According to him, the document was included in the agenda of the Parliament on 14 November and to vote for him will have 16 Nov.
“This is due to the fact that the factions were able to spend about (the bill – ed.) discussions. If during the study of fractions we will see, we on Thursday it will be able to put in enough checkpoint part and without a lot of passionate discussion to take a decision on it. If there is a positive solution of the fractions, then we on Thursday it will be able to pass it among the first issues,” – said the speaker.
Recently it became known how many days will the rest of the Ukrainians to new year holidays. New year weekend in 2018 will last for three days from 30 December to 1 January inclusive, and for Christmas weekend will again be three days in a row: 6, 7 and 8 January.
