In Ukraine may receive another holiday

The MP proposed to create a Day of the programmer.

The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine registered a draft decree on establishing the Day of the programmer.

The bill was September 29, and it was initiated by people’s Deputy Ivan Krivenko from the faction “Block of Petro Poroshenko”.

As reported on the website of the Parliament, the Deputy explained his initiative because at the end of 2016 Ukraine has 99 940 professionals in the IT field, and every year their number increases by about 12%.

“Thanks to the workers in the sphere of programming every year in Ukraine on average receives 2 billion currencies, an average of 1 programmer creates 2-3 additional jobs and around 5% of GDP is the IT industry,” he said.

With the aim of creating conditions to encourage the industry and its development, and given the large contribution of programmers in the development of the national economy, Krivenko believes that it is appropriate, the annual celebration of Day of the programmer.

The draft resolution proposes to set at the state level, the programmer’s Day to be celebrated annually on the 256th day of the year: that is, 13 September and on 12 September in a leap year.

However, it is unlikely due to the proposals of people’s Deputy in Ukraine this day is the weekend.
