Due to heavy rains the crop yield will suffer, which will decrease sugar production Ukrainian plants, the press service Ukrsakhar.
According to the Association, this year’s first sugar beet crop has suffered from waterlogged soil and high humidity.
“Considering all factors, I can predict that the sugar content and yield will be below the expected level, which in turn will affect the production of sugar”, – stated in the message.
Ukrsakhar according to forecasts, this year Ukraine will be able to get within 1.1-1.2 million tons of sugar that will lead to a shortage in the market.
The acreage under sugar beet in Ukraine this year will be 205-210 thousand hectares, which is 25% less than last year.
Sugar production in Ukraine in 2018-2019 g decreased by 15% and amounted to 1.82 million tons. The season had 42 sugar factory.
