In Ukraine is significantly more expensive bread

Experts expect that over time its value will reach the European level.

For 2017, the bread in Ukraine is significantly more expensive.

This opinion was expressed by most experts.

However, even high grain yield will not be able to keep the prices down. The fact that the price of bread depends not only on raw materials but from other factors. In particular, the cost of a loaf of bread includes the payment of salaries, payment of gas and electricity, and taxes.

This means that before the end of the year the price of bread in Ukraine will grow by about 30%. According to the expert of the Association of retailers Alexey Doroshenko, over time, the price of bread compared with the European. Doroshenko noted that today the cost of a kilogram of bread in Ukraine is an average of 21 hryvnia. Thus a kilogram of black so-called “social” bread you can buy for 11.8 UAH.

At the same time in Europe, bread is much more expensive. The cheapest black bread you can find in Lithuania and 33.7 UAH per kg. it will cost at 34.4 UAH, in Estonia — UAH 35,2, Poland 41,4 UAH. The most expensive black bread in Hungary — 66,2 UAH per kg.

This means that the cost of Ukrainian bread will gradually catch up to the minimum European level. Note that according to experts, the price of bread in Ukraine since the beginning of the year increased by 15%.
