The production of electricity in the United energy system (UES) of Ukraine in January-February 2017 increased by 3.6% (1 billion 018,5 million kWh) compared to the same period of 2016 to 29 billion 616,2 million kWh.
This was reported by a source in the Ministry of energy and coal industry.
So, a nuclear power plant (NPP) two months month increased its production of electricity by 1.2% – up to 15 billion 758,7 million kWh.
Thermal power plants (TPP) and combined heat and power (CHP) and cogeneration plants increased production by 0.8 percent to 11 billion 405,2 million kWh.
Hydropower plants (HPP and PSPP) in the Jan-Feb-2017 increased production by 66.7% to 1,964 billion kWh, while the block-stations has reduced production 11% to 246.2 million kWh.
Electricity production from non-traditional sources (wind farms, SES, biomass) for the period decreased by 1.6% to 242,1 million kWh.
The share of NPPs in the structure of electricity production amounted to 53.2% (in January-February 2016 and 54.5%), TPPs – 38,5% (39,6%), hydro and pumped storage power plant and 6.6% (4.1%) and block-stations – 0,8% (0,9%), alternative sources – 0,8% (1%).
The production of electricity in IPS of Ukraine in February 2017 rose 4% (538,4 million kWh) compared to the same month in 2016, up to 13,966 billion kWh.
