Poroshenko has declared mourning in Ukraine.
The President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko announced a nationwide mourning for the tragedy at the mine named Stepova in the Lviv region, the decree signed on Thursday, 2 March.
“The President of Ukraine announced a nationwide mourning because of the tragedy in Lviv. The corresponding decree was signed today”, – said the press Secretary of the President Svyatoslav Tsegolko in Facebook.
Also Poroshenko instructed the Cabinet of Ministers to audit all coal mining enterprises of Ukraine on provision of funds and observance of safety production, said Tsigalko.
We will remind, earlier in gschs reported that the explosion and collapse of breed on mine No. 10 Stepova killed eight miners, the fate of twenty remains unknown.
According to the report, the mine was 172 miners, on an emergency site – 34, of which eight died. Six miners ‘ injuries brought to the surface.
According to the head of trade Union of miners of Ukraine Mikhail Volynets, the cause of the tragedy was the explosion of methane. Volynets also said that killed 11 miners.
