In Ukraine on 1 January 2018 in force the speed limit the traffic to 50 kilometers per hour in the settlements. A decree adopted by the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine of November 10, 2017, and on November 27 it was published in the official government newspaper “Uryadovy courier”.
Provided that, in connection with the entry into force of this regulation, the maximum permitted speed of vehicles in the settlements reduced from 60 kilometres per hour to 50 kilometers per hour. Also changed maximum speed on road signs “Beginning of dense development” and “End dense development”.
The Ministry of internal Affairs of Ukraine believe that this decision will contribute to a significant increase in the level of road safety and saving people’s lives. As you know, today in most countries of the European Union the speed of vehicles in built up areas is 50 kilometres per hour, and on special areas to 30 kilometers per hour.
