The volume of counterfeit banknotes in denominations of $100 was 94% of the total quantity seized.
In 2017 among withdrawn from circulation of counterfeit banknotes of foreign currencies dominated by the dollar – for 77.6% of the total number of seized counterfeit banknotes of foreign currencies and the Euro and 16.5%.
This was reported in the annual report on the official website of the national Bank of Ukraine (NBU).
Thus, the volume of counterfeit banknotes in denominations of $100 was 94% of the total quantity seized, while the volume of counterfeit banknotes in denominations of €200, €100 and €50 was, respectively, 40%, 21% and 29% of the total quantity seized.
In addition, it is noted that the regulator has withdrawn from circulation nearly 10.5 thousand fake hryvnia banknotes in the amount of 3.6 million UAH.
The results of 2017 showed an increase of 61% of the total quantity seized counterfeit national currency of detected counterfeit banknotes of 500 UAH 2006.
Of treatment also seized fake banknotes of another denomination: 200 UAH – 7% of the total number of seized counterfeits; 100 UAH -17%; 50 UAH – 13%. Withdrawn banknotes in denominations of 1 UAH, 2 UAH, 5 UAH, 10 UAH 20 UAH 1.5 percent.
At the same time, the NBU concluded a relatively low level of counterfeiting of hryvnia banknotes and said that the situation with fakes is controlled and has no critical character.
