In Ukraine banned stories about Russian heroes

Ukraine has banned the tales about the Russian knights

The book “Ilya Muromets and Nightingale the robber: stories about Russian heroes” and “Powerful Russian tales” prohibited for sale in Ukraine according to the decree of the National Committee for television and radio.

The reason for the ban is that both books are published in Russia. The newspaper’s source in the Ukrainian government said that Kyiv has nothing against the fairy-tale characters, including Ilya Muromets. “His relics are in the caves of Kiev-Pechersk Lavra, the books published by Ukrainian publishing houses, and there is no need to import them from Russia”, – he stressed.

It is noted that during the year Ukraine has banned the import of 19 Russian publications, among them two works of the writer Boris Akunin.
