NSDC hopes to make defense enterprises private.
Ukrainian state-owned defense companies may be subject to privatization.
According to him, the national security Council together with the Cabinet of Ministers and the Verkhovna Rada are discussing the opportunity at the legislative level to allow such privatization.
“I want to inform you that we are working with the Cabinet of Ministers and the Verkhovna Rada, in particular, with the relevant committees on the removal of any restrictions on the privatization of state-owned defense enterprises, and investment, introducing foreign investment in these enterprises”, — he said.
Now such privatization is severely limiting the current Ukrainian legislation. However, privatization would enable to liberalize the activities of defense enterprises.
“It is important that these measures on liberalization of foreign economic activities of Ukrainian defense industrial enterprises on the one hand substantially strengthen their position, prospects of development, competitiveness and efficiency. And with another — will not be weakened by the expert’s control,” said Turchynov.
So, in the future activities of all actors of this market will have to meet all of signed by Ukraine of international agreements.
Privatization will allow to save budgetary funds, and also make defensive segment more transparent and efficient.
