It is noted that the specialists of the Department of archaeology, Ministry of culture and tourism of Turkey, working on a special ship for underwater research, has already raised from a depth of 65 meters gun weight of 2.5 tons with an inscription in Cyrillic and double-headed eagle, as well as dishes.
As stated involved in the research, the Professor Izmir University Harun Ozdas, an area of research of the wreckage of a sunken ship does 200 square meters. Under water there are still about 30 artifacts – cannons, cores, and various weapons, the remains of the rigging.
Presumably, the Russian ship participated in the battle of Chesma during the Russo-Turkish war of 1768-1774.
