In the Transcarpathian region Rakhiv district want to cut down 14 million hectares of forest to build a tourist complex, which will be able to host 30 thousand visitors at a time. About this on his page in Facebook said the activist ina Penetration.

“Now we face another zrada – the construction of tourist-recreational complex “of Svydovets”. It must cut 14 thousand hectares of forest ( p. Lopuhova Tyachiv district, village of Chorna Tysa and Yasinya Rakhiv district). Peasants promise mountains of gold, no – smear honey on the ears and the eyes,” said ina Penetration.

According to her, people are asked to destroy the unique nature of the region, and the project was presented as “the economic miracle of Transcarpathia”.

“But – 53 km of ski lifts, 200 km of ski slopes, Golf course, airport and hundreds of restaurants and hotels. This property needs to accommodate more than 30 thousand people at a time!” – added the activist.

Local people promised jobs, tourists and investment and prestige.

“If you look at the climate map of Transcarpathia, you understand that the greatest amount of precipitation during the year occurs exactly where you want to cut the forest for this complex. And only if you save the eco-system of the region, we will be able to save rivers that start from the Svydovets! The local authority voted with both hands “for the resort on the Svydovets”, – said the girl.

At the same time, she stressed that there is another position – “environmentalists, lawyers, social activists, farmers, local residents and other conscious people who understand the danger of violation of eco-systems in mountain regions”.
