Yet the artifact is not opened – there are three locks.
On August 20, the pit dug for laying of heating in the winery at St. Magistrate’s workers found a German safe during the Second world war.
This was stated by Olga Grabovskaya, head of the sector of archeology of the Vinnytsia regional Museum of local lore.
“This is really a German safe – it shows three locks with a cipher on which the German inscriptions. Now we can not even guess what might be inside, you need to open,” she said.
The safe was brought to the backyard of the Vinnitsa regional Museum of local lore – discovery, which weighs about 500 kg, carried by the truck.
To open the safe in the “regular” way will not work – time did the trick, metal is highly oxidized, so they will use special tools to minimum damage it. Item is covered with rust and earth: first, it should be carefully cleaned and then start opening. On the door you can see three of shirosama with remaining letters.
With the safe in the pit found pottery with the image of the “star of David” and a few silver German coins. Find guarded by the police.
