Divers managed to get about 40 ingot of metal, weapons, armor and helmets. They were forged from an unknown metal. Scientists were sure it is orichalc, which was circulated in the mythical island-state Atlantis.
The island went under water about 9 thousand years ago. The first mention of the mysterious lefthanded found in the works of the philosopher Plato. He wrote that this amazing metal the inhabitants of Atlantis extracted from “the bowels of the Earth.” Presumably archaeologists estimate that the ship sank 2.6 thousand years ago.
