The man suddenly deviated from strict instructions, according to eyewitnesses.
Climbing aboard the plane in Detroit, the flight attendant Lauren Gibbs knew he would never forget this day – it was their anniversary with her beloved. But she did not expect that her boyfriend, pilot John Emerson will make her a surprise.
Reporting flight time, altitude and the likelihood of turbulence, Emerson suddenly deviated from the instructions and provided passengers with his girlfriend.
“Today me and Lauren’s special day. Today’s our anniversary. She is one of our best flight attendants. Lauren, please come here. I want this day remembered for a lifetime. And I want to spend the rest of my life.”
Then he pulled out the engagement ring, got down on one knee and asked Gibbs to marry him. The answer was an enthusiastic “Yes.”
Everything that happens filmed on the phone the second pilot, which Emerson agreed in advance.
“John took me by surprise, – she admitted. He’s very quiet and shy guy, so for him to do that in front of passengers was not easy, but, in my opinion, everything was perfect. We almost all the time we spend in the flight, as we work together, so the time and place was chosen perfectly.”
A logical continuation of the story would be marriage in the air, but Gibbs says they are planning a quiet and modest celebration with friends and family.
