In the United States recorded an ecological disaster

Because of the abundance of the exhaust gases the climate of the U.S. has changed significantly.

In the United States recorded the hottest decade for the last 1.5 thousand years. The average annual temperature in the country has increased since the 1980s years and will grow by 2.8 to 4.8 degrees by the end of the 21st century.

To such conclusions the authors of the report about climate change’s major Federal project “national climate assessment”, The New York Times reported.

The study is conducted every four years under the leadership of the Congress. National science Academy (National Academy of Sciences) adopted the draft report. The report is awaiting official clearance from the administration of President Donald trump.

The specialists from 13 agencies who prepared the report, found that the number of cool nights in the United States declined from 1960-ies, and warm days became more. Annual precipitation has increased by 4% since the beginning of the 20th century.

Found signs of climate change in all parts of the United States. Researchers, in particular, found that the climate in the West, South-West and South-East of the country becomes drier, and in the southern lowlands and the Midwest is more humid. In Texas 20 times more frequent extreme weather events. According to the report, the surface temperature of the earth and air in Alaska and in the Arctic rising two times faster than the world average.

“It is highly likely that the high rate of warming in the Arctic will affect the United States,” the report reads. The researchers note that due to the rapid melting of ice and rising sea levels may be affected coastal community.
The experts do not propose specific recommendations for combating climate change. The document stresses the need to reduce greenhouse gas emissions to prevent a rise in temperature of the Earth by more than two degrees. According to forecasts, the temperature rises by 0.3 degrees, even if the humanity will destroy the sources of CO2 emissions.

However, the report contradicts statements made by the President of the USA of Donald trump and his Cabinet on the uncertain human contribution to climate change and that the ability to predict the consequences of the process are limited. Scientists are concerned that the presidential administration can adjust or hide.

“This is the first case when the analysis of climate change came to the administration trump. Scientists will carefully monitor the reaction,” said Professor of Geophysics and international relations at Princeton University’s Michael Oppenheimer.

Until August 18 to assess the report should also protection Agency United States environmental protection Agency (EPA). However, the administrator of the office Scott Pruitt also repeatedly stated that he does not consider carbon dioxide the main cause of global warming.
