International support for Ukraine has made it clear to Deputy Secretary of state.
The President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko met with Deputy Secretary of state John L. Sullivan, the press service of the head of state.
They discussed the implementation of reforms in Ukraine, in particular, in the framework of continuing cooperation with the International monetary Fund. During the meeting the interlocutors noted the importance of adopting the draft laws on establishing the anticorruption court and the national security of Ukraine.
Poroshenko and Sullivan discussed the security situation in the Donbas and the introduction into the occupied territory, the UN peacekeeping mission.
“The President has emphasized that Ukraine had made efforts to resolve the situation in Donbass by politico-diplomatic methods on the basis of the Minsk agreements. In this context, it was separately noted the importance of the adoption of the law on reintegration”, – reports a press-service.
The sides confirmed the need to maintain sanctions against Russia until the complete fulfillment of the Minsk agreements, the restoration of sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine.
Sullivan arrived in Ukraine on February 21. He visited the memorial to the heroes of Heavenly Hundred in Kiev, met with Prime Minister Vladimir Groisman and addressed the students of the Diplomatic Academy of Ukraine named after Gennady Udovenko at the Ministry of foreign Affairs of Ukraine.
The under Secretary stressed that the United States will never agree to a deal on Ukraine without her consent. He promised that the United States will continue to support the country until the Russian aggression against it will not stop.
