The Minister of defense supported the integrity of Ukraine.
The Minister of defence of the USA James Mattis in a telephone conversation with Polish counterpart Antoni Metservice confirmed its support for the territorial integrity of Ukraine.
About it reports the Ministry of national defence of Poland.
“First, the Ministers discussed the security situation in the region, with particular reference to threats to the so-called Eastern flank (NATO – ed.), Poland, the Baltic States and Romania, as well as the placement of U.S. troops in Poland. The Minister of defence of the USA confirmed its support for the independence and integrity of Ukraine “, – stated in the message.
The sides also discussed issues relating to terrorist threats and actions of North Korea.
Mattis noted the good level of cooperation between the U.S. and Poland and expressed support for the costs of Poland on defence at 2% of GDP. In this context, during the conversation they discussed issues of purchase Poland American rockets of system “Patriot”.
It is noted that the Ministers also discussed the next rotation of American troops in Poland after 2018 and transfer of command of U.S. troops divisional level from Germany to Poland. The American Minister also expressed support for the activities of the multinational command “North-East”.
