In the square of St. Mary in San Francisco unveiled a monument to “comfort women” — girls and women forcibly held in Japanese military brothels in the first half of the twentieth century.
The sculpture depicts Kim Haksun, “comfort woman” from Korea.
Kim was the first among the survivors of women who dare to talk about their experiences publicly.
