U.S. attorney General ruled that victims of domestic violence and gang violence can no longer qualify for asylum in the United States.
The solution Jeff N cancels order dated 2016, which granted asylum to a woman from El Salvador who was raped by her husband.
The highest legal representative of America stated that “the concept of asylum does not include all kinds of life’s difficulties”.
Activists believe that the move will affect decisions on tens of thousands of applications for asylum in the United States.
“Foreigners who are victims of domestic violence or gang violence perpetrated by non-state actors, do not qualify for asylum,” n stated in his ruling.
He added: “the fact that the country may be a problem with the police control over certain crimes, such as domestic violence or violence in gangs, or that some populations become victims of crime, cannot be a sufficient basis for the granting of asylum”.
